Second, sericulture management
1. Houses flooded by silkworm (including sericulture housing) should be inspected for dangerous conditions before retreating to ensure that they can quickly clean the house after cleaning the flood water, clean houses and utensils, and completely remove silt. With dirt, use a bleach solution containing 1% of available chlorine (1 kg of bleach and 25 kg of water) to fully sterilize living houses, sericulture houses, surrounding places, and sericulture utensils to prevent epidemics of humans and animals. It is conducive to the prevention and control of sericulture in the future.
2. If a sericulture housing is damaged by floods, it should be quickly repaired before sericulture. If the sericulture housing has collapsed, a shed or a simple silkworm house can be used to raise sericulture, and production resumed as soon as possible, and production and self-rescue work is carried out.
3. After the flood, sericulture should pay attention to keeping the silkworm room ventilated and dry. Disperse fresh lime powder to disinfect the silkworms. Do not feed water leaves and silt leaves.
Third, production suggestions
1. It is advisable to change the mulberry trees that are vulnerable to flooding and low-level land. The mulberry trees have strong anti-disaster capacity. They will not die within 7 days of flooding, and their roots are more developed than ordinary crops, which can effectively resist flooding attacks. However, it is not appropriate to grow mulberry in the long-term accumulation of water and land that may be flooded for more than three days.
2. Mulberry seedlings should be selected for varieties with strong adaptability, such as the shortage of seedlings and the well-pervious land, which can be used to solve the problem of insufficient supply of mulberry seedlings.
3. In order to reduce the occurrence of silkworm diseases, silkworm rearing should be avoided in the hot and humid environment after the disaster. After June, most of the province has entered the high-temperature season. Although the mulberry trees have grown vigorously in rainy areas, the climatic conditions are no longer suitable for sericulture. Therefore, early summer harvest should be carried out in order to allow more young silkworms to grow.
4. During the high temperature season of sericulture, attention should be paid to strengthening the ventilation and cooling of the silkworm room. Before and after the silkworm room, shade sheds can be used to prevent direct sunlight; silkworms should be disinfected with quicklime to avoid feeding wet leaves.
5. Areas with large rainfall in the first half of the year should pay attention to prevention of autumn drought, timely summer harvest, and re-apply nursing fertilizer in mulberry fields during the rainy season to promote the growth of mulberry trees and ensure a good harvest in the second half of the year.
