Friction optimization parts manufactured by 3D printing shop

Friction-optimized parts made in 3D printing shops – far more resistant to wear than machined and injection molded parts

You need to find the parts for your technical application as soon as possible, and hope that the parts are made of wear-resistant 3D printed wire and hope to be used immediately in the prototype and mass production! Why not try igus Zui's new 3D printing service?

The parts you need are manufactured and sent to you by the igus® 3D print shop. Printed parts have proven their strength in testing, and their performance is superior to machining and injection molded parts. Manufacturing has become easier, faster, safer, and often less expensive. You can try it for yourself.

Motion plastics® in use

System solutions for 3D printers
The igus® towline (especially the “E2 Micro” series) features low installation height and low bending radius to ensure safe guiding of the power and data cables. The chainflex® high-flex cable is designed for continuous motion applications to prevent cable failure. Together with drylin® linear plain bearings linear shafts, motor flanges, couplings and drylin® linear plain bearing motors, igus® is available in its own complete out-of-the-box operating unit.

Advanced technology, reducing costs

Motion plastics® innovation

Wear-resistant iglidur® 3D printer wire
The iglidur® 3D printer wire is up to 50 times more wear resistant than standard 3D printed materials. This is ideal when designing sliding parts with high wear resistance: not only can economical and fast manufacture of special parts and prototypes, but their service life is tested and proven.

90,000 CAD downloads per month
In order to allow you to easily use the drag chain during the manufacturing process of 3D printers, igus® offers free 3D CAD files for all products for you to download in a complete format. Free and no registration required.

Drylin® linear plain bearing screw nut with preload
The screw adjustment in the 3D printer is not only lubrication-free, quiet and zero-gap, but also cost-effective. The pre-tightened new drylin® linear plain bearing screw nut is the ideal choice.

Guaranteed zui small bending radius
Chainflex® high-flexibility control and motor cables prevent system failure and ensure long life of 3D printers. It has a small bending radius and various sheath materials, and has obtained many certifications. No cutting fee or small order quantity. Delivered within 24 hours*. Warranty 36 months**

Perspective igus® Lab

Iglidur® friction optimized wire contrast with iglidur® material bar
In the new Zui test of the igus® plain bearing laboratory, we tested the drive nuts made with 3D printing of iglidur® I180 and iglidur® J260 materials under realistic conditions. Subsequent comparisons were made with drive nuts made of iglidur® rods and ABS printed drive nuts.

Friction optimization innovation: printing is as good as injection molding
Our in-house test lab compared sliding bearings and typical injection molded parts that were optimized for friction-optimized silk by linear and rotary tests. The results show that the wear resistance of the two is comparable, even on different shafts.

Where can I find igus®?

Igus® bearings printed in racing cars
The products installed in the Racing Snail team are very important. They are looking for a solution to install the chassis stabilizer. Bearings made of iglidur® friction-optimized yarns print and bond quickly. It reduces weight and workload compared to welded parts. The printed bearing has been in use for one year without any problems.
