Indonesian government will issue 300,000 tons of rice in stock this week

According to Indonesia's national procurement agency Bulog on Thursday, the Indonesian government will issue 300,000 tons of rice inventories this week to stabilize domestic prices. Most of the domestic rice prices this week have risen from 5,000 rupiah per kilogram in December to 6,000 rupiah, or about $0.645. Bulog's government rice inventory is about 500,000 tons, but Bulog also manages another 1.2 million tons of rice for other purposes. The government will sell the most populated island of Java at 5,500 rupiah per kilogram.
