Wine: A Good Memory of Childhood

Hebei Huailai is China's famous "hometown of wine." As a native of Huailai, Li Rongjie has been exposed to grapes and wine since childhood. Although only a few self-brewing wines were brought into contact with the children, it was the grape's wine-making process that deeply attracted him. Li Rongjie recalls that in his childhood, the green patches in the summer grape fields and the yellow color in autumn harvest are the most beautiful and profound impressions in his heart. It is also this initial love that makes Li Rongjie’s passion for wine grow stronger with the passage of time.

In 1995, Li Rongjie, who had obtained Tianjin University, applied for biochemistry engineering in the Department of Food without hesitation. “At that time, I wanted to choose a wine-related specialty. This is also a dream to realize!” Li Rongjie said with a smile. The love of wine made Li Rongjie's four-year study life happy and fulfilling. Through the study of professional knowledge, Li Rongjie has further advanced his understanding of wine: “It was purely like wine, and after learning, it was wine.” Li Rongjie said.

Become acquainted with Ai Feibao

In 2007, Li Rongjie entered Changyu Ai Feibao Beijing International Winery to engage in wine brewing. As a world-renowned winery, Changyu Aifeibao has the most advanced and standardized brewing process and production process. At the same time, it also brings together a number of highly skilled and internationally renowned wine experts and winemakers. Recalling that time in Ai Feibao, Li Rongjie is still deeply impressed. Although he has already got his hands on his work, Li Rongjie still maintains a modest attitude of seeking knowledge and is still persisting in learning about winemaking. Apart from his work, Li Rongjie also likes to study military affairs and history. He said that by reading some comments on historical figures and events, he can make his own eyes look longer and his mind more open.

When asked about what kind of wine he likes, Li Rongjie said that he likes two kinds of wine, one is fruity wine, fresh and vibrant, and the other is oak-storage-aged wine, calm and reserved. In his speech, Li Rongjie also showed his love of wine in his eyes, like the warm feeling of parents when they talked about their children.

During the interview, Li Rongjie gave us the impression that he was a prudent and warm winemaker. He always talked with us with a smile.
