The fertilizer is agglomerated. Are you still knocking on the stick?

The problem of fertilizer agglomeration is believed to have been encountered by many people. Especially in the warehouse, the fertilizer is most likely to agglomerate for a period of time. The longer the time, the more serious the agglomeration. Fertilizers are not good for selling. In the eyes of farmers, the cakes are fake fertilizers. Therefore, many dealers have to arrange for workers to beat the sticks, which is time-consuming and laborious. Manufacturers will be returned by dealers due to the problem of caking.

First, what are the reasons for fertilizer agglomeration?

1, first from the raw material analysis, mainly the raw materials are easy to dissolve

In general, the main raw materials for compound (mixed) fertilizer production are urea, ammonium chloride, ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulfate, diammonium phosphate, monoammonium phosphate, superphosphate, potassium chloride, potassium sulfate, and the like. Composite (mixed) fertilizers made from these readily soluble fertilizers tend to agglomerate during storage and transportation.

2, then look at other factors affecting fertilizer agglomeration

1) High moisture content of fertilizer

The moisture content of the fertilizer is the biggest factor in the agglomeration of the fertilizer during storage. The higher the moisture content, the more easily the salt in the fertilizer granules dissolves, the more likely the physicochemical reaction occurs, and the agglomeration is easily formed after recrystallization, and the dissolution is repeated. - The crystallization process leads to severe agglomeration.

2) The product has uneven particle size and low particle compressive strength

The fertilizer particles are small or the particle size is not uniform, the gap between the particles is small, the specific surface area is large, and the contact area between the particles is large, and the agglomeration is easy.

If the compressive strength of the fertilizer granules is low, the fertilizer is easily deformed and broken during packaging, transportation and storage, which will increase the contact area between the granules and easily lead to agglomeration of the fertilizer.

3) Pressure between fertilizers during stacking

When the fertilizer is stored, the particles are in contact with gravity, the particles are in close contact with each other, and the deformation is easy. The stacking height is about high, the fertilizer is subjected to higher pressure, the indirect contact of the particles is increased, and the more easily agglomerated.

4) Long storage time

The longer the storage time of the fertilizer product, the recrystallization of the surface of the fertilizer granules - the more the dissolution process is carried out, and the agglomeration tendency is obvious when the pressure is under a certain pressure for a long time.

5) High packaging temperature

The packaging temperature is high, the product is not cooled enough, the internal moisture of the product is not fully released, and when the temperature is high, the solubility of the corresponding salt is large. During storage, as the temperature decreases, the solubility of the salt decreases, and when it is supersaturated, Crystallization occurs, resulting in a crystal bridge, causing agglomeration.

6) There is a large amount of fertilizer powder when packaging

During the process of cooling and packaging the fertilizer particles, friction between the particles will generate a certain amount of dust. The dust exists between the particles, which acts as a “bridge”, which increases the contact area between the fertilizer particles and also causes the knot.

Second, how to effectively prevent fertilizer agglomeration?

Let’s take a look at the production side:

1. Reduce the moisture content of the fertilizer and the packaging temperature. Through the dehumidification and cooling of the dryer and the dehumidification unit to install the air conditioner, the fertilizer moisture is controlled below 0.6%, the fertilizer cooling time is prolonged, and the packaging temperature is lowered.

2. Add anti-caking agent to the raw material to reduce the physical and chemical reaction between the particles.

3. Further improve the uniformity of fertilizer particles by modifying the screening system.

4. Reduce the height of fertilizer storage and reduce storage pressure.

Look at the dealers?

1. Reduce the temperature and humidity of the warehouse, store the fertilizer in a cool and dry warehouse, ensure that the top does not leak rain, the ground does not accumulate water, the warehouse is equipped with an exhaust fan, and if necessary, cool down and drain.

2. After the fertilizer has been stored for a period of time, it is often turned over, especially for fertilizers with high nutrient content. They are easier to agglomerate when they are stacked for a long time.

3. Fertilizers that are prone to chemical reactions are stacked separately to prevent chemical reaction from agglomerating.

4. Reduce the height of the fertilizer pallet and reduce the pressure between the particles.

5. Avoid blind ordering, reduce inventory pressure, and prevent excessive accumulation of fertilizer for a long time.

6. Select regular manufacturers to prevent granulation and poor agglomeration.
