However, the magnetic stirrer also has the disadvantage that the magnetic stirrer cannot be used smoothly for some viscous liquids or reactions involving a large amount of solids . The mechanical stirrer should be used as the stirring power. The magnetic stirrer uses the rotation of the magnetic field to drive the rotation of the magnetic stirrer. The magnetic stirrer is a small piece of metal wrapped with a layer of inert material (such as Teflon, etc.). If the lab doesn't want to buy it, it can be made by itself: use a piece of 10# iron wire to put it into a thin glass tube or plastic. In the tube, the ends are sealed. The size of the magnetic stirrer is generally 10mm, 20mm, 30mm, 40mm long (there are longer magnetic stirrers, which are not listed here). The mechanical agitator mainly includes three parts: an electric motor, a stirring rod and a stirring sealing device. The motor is the power part of the mechanical agitator, fixed on the bracket, and its speed is adjusted by the governor (such as the ika RW20 mechanical agitator ). The stirring rod is connected with the electric motor. When the power is turned on, the electric motor drives the stirring rod to rotate and stirs. The stirring sealing device is a device for connecting the stirring rod and the reactor, and the reaction can be carried out in the sealing system. The agitation efficiency of a mechanical agitator is largely dependent on the structure of its agitator. We can choose a suitable stirring rod according to the size and shape of the reactor, the size of the bottle mouth and the reaction conditions.
