Do not feed sheep with dry corn grains

The sheep was hungry and the owner picked up some dry corn grains to eat. Unexpectedly, the sheep actually ate bloated and died when it was too late to heal. This is a recent incident at the village of Heping Village, Baima Township, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province.

The villagers of the 8 groups of Heping Village, Baima Town, had previously had a sheep in their homes and had already had 30 jins. On a recent day, when she saw Hungry, she saw some sun dried corn grains eaten by the sheep. That night, the sheep were fed with some water as usual.

However, soon the sheep would suffer in pain. A careful observation of Men Shulan found that the belly of the sheep swelled so hard that when the veterinarian arrived at the door of the Men Shulan family, the sheep had died.

The veterinarian Tong Guosheng of Heping Village said that feeding sheep with dry corn grains is very dangerous and it can easily cause the sheep to swell. Last year, a villager surnamed Zhao in the village used dry corn to feed the sheep, which also caused the sheep to swell. Tong Guosheng reminded the villagers that before feeding the sheep, they should pulverize the corn kernels into powder, adding water and a small amount of salt to form a paste, which is beneficial to the digestion and absorption of the sheep.

Luo Xianchao, head of the Baima Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station, said that cattle, rabbits and fish should not feed dry corn kernels.
